Glory Days Grill® Vendor of the Year 2010

Fairfax, VA - Glory Days Grill, a Baltimore/Washington based regional casual-dining restaurant chain operating 22 full-service restaurants in three states, has announced their selections for Vendor of the Year for 2010.  Founded in 1996 at Fairfax, Virginia, Glory Days Grill has been selecting vendors of the year to recognize excellence in business partnerships since 2000.  “We feel that our company’s success is determined by many factors.  One of the most important relationships in any successful business is those we establish with customer-centric companies that provide us with the best possible products and services available in today’s competitive marketplace” says Gary Cohen, Vice President of Operations.  He adds, “We have a very unique relationship with our vendors.  Each one of these vendors has found ways to differentiate themselves from their competition while simultaneously adding value to our business.  It is the myriad of peripheral services and relationships that make all the difference in the world to our business.”  The main criteria in order to win this prestigious award are for a vendor to exceed expectations by going above and beyond the call of duty. 

A special dinner and ceremony was held in honor of the four recipients on March 30, 2011 at the banquet facility located at the Glory Days Grill in Broadlands, VA.  Each winning business was awarded engraved baseball bats to commemorate their achievements.  This year’s four winning businesses were as follow:

Sandy Spring Bank: No bank or other lending institution has ever earned this award thereby making their achievement very special.  This 145 year old bank headquartered in Olney, MD began servicing Glory Days Grill’s financial needs for long term expansion, short term debt, CAPEX re-investment and other banking services 4 years ago.  The bank’s flexibility and understanding of the special needs of restaurants and Glory Days’ distinctive business model contributed to their inclusion.  In addition to demonstrating seamless banking and reliability, Sandy Spring Bank has been a perennial Gold or Silver Sponsor of Glory Days Grill’s annual golf tournament benefitting chronically ill children. 

Auto-Chlor: For the second time (2006, 2010) Auto-Chlor has won this award.  Auto-Chlor is a provider of chemicals and ware washing equipment that takes great pride in interacting with managers and employees to provide a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.  Their attention to detail, excellent service skills, superlative performance record and ability to work very closely with management for the past 15 years make them a truly dedicated partner with a vested interest in the company’s continued success.

CPM Logistics: This is the first time ever that a first year new vendor has received this award. CPM is a third party purchasing consultant hired during 2010 to assist in food and beverage purchasing efforts. They helped to better manage contract negotiations with food manufacturers, brokers and vendors in a more effective fashion.  In a very short time frame, CPM significantly lowered procurement costs without sacrificing quality.  CPM is a small but focused company enabling Glory Days to achieve food cost metrics.

Digitec Solutions, Inc: Digitec Solutions (a member of the Support Functions, Inc. Group of Companies) is an extremely innovative company that has been partners with Glory Days Grill since its inception in 1996.  Digitec Solutions has the honor of winning the most Vendor of the Year awards, having earned this recognition an incredible eleven consecutive times since the award commenced in 2000.  Digitec Solutions, along with the other members of the Support Functions Group, provide Glory Days Grill with a variety of products and services ranging from uniforms to speaker boxes to plastic toys for kid’s drinks.  They also serve as Glory Days Grill’s IT Company, providing computer hardware, software and a variety of innovative technology solutions.  Digitec Solutions specializes in serving the needs of small and medium size companies and is the support function leg of several companies that act to create varied solutions to business and industry.
